Accurate, continuous oxygen measurement is critical in a wide range of industrial processes. In electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, even trace levels of oxygen during soldering or reflow operations can cause oxidation and component failure. In gas production and inert atmosphere processing, maintaining precise oxygen control protects both product quality and process safety. In food processing and packaging, oxygen monitoring helps maintain modified atmospheres that extend shelf life.
The ZR800 uses zirconia electrochemical cell technology – the same fundamental approach used in automotive lambda sensors, but engineered to the precision standards required for industrial process analysis. The high-purity zirconia ceramic cell generates a voltage signal directly proportional to the oxygen concentration in the sample gas. This signal is processed by a high-speed microprocessor and converted into a linearised digital readout, giving operators a direct, stable, and accurate oxygen concentration reading in real time.
The ZR800’s response time – 90% of step change within 5 seconds – is designed for applications where rapid detection of oxygen changes is critical. The instrument’s microprocessor-controlled menu interface supports straightforward configuration, calibration, and monitoring, making it accessible to operators across a range of environments without specialist analytical chemistry training.
