The PAPTAC C.4 & C.5 methods are national testing standards relating to the forming of handsheets in preparation for pulp testing.
The Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada established the PAPTAC standards in order to harmonize the processes and guide the activities of the pulp and paper industry.
Listed as a PAPTAC fiber treatment standard, PAPTAC C.4 offers a simple approach for forming handsheets for physical tests of pulp. PAPTAC C.5 relates to forming handsheets for optical tests of pulp using the British Sheet Machine Method.
The test results on handsheets made with these PAPTAC pulp testing procedures can be used to describe properties of market pulps.
