Introducing ISO 2818 – Industrial Physics  

ISO 2818 is a global ISO testing standard that guides you on the process to follow when machining and notching test specimens from compression-molded and injection-molded plastics. 

Following the advice of this ISO notch testing standard you can inspect everything from extruded sheets and plates through to partially finished, or wholly finished, products. And using a trusty Industrial Physics notch cutter you’ll create top notch profiles in charpy and izod impact specimens.

In order to establish a basis for reproducible machining and notching conditions, you’ll need to apply some general notch test standardized conditions. Even so, the exact procedures to be used are selected, or specified by, the relevant material specification, or by the standards on the particular notch test methods.
