Introducing ISO 10360 – Industrial Physics

ISO 10360 is an international ISO testing standard that offers you a series of acceptance and reverification tests for coordinate measuring machines (CMM). 

The International Organization of Standards (ISO) produces a wide range of ISO standards to guide manufacturers, production lines and laboratories when checking the integrity of packaging, products, and materials across many industries.  

The ISO 10360 testing standard sections

The thirteen parts of ISO 10360 cover acceptance and verification for a wide range of coordinate measuring machines with different features and applications. As such, this CMM testing standard is presented in the following parts:  

• ISO 10360-1: Vocabulary 

• ISO 10360-2: CMMs used for measuring linear dimensions 

• ISO 10360-3: CMMs with the axis of a rotary table as the fourth axis 

• ISO 10360-4: CMMs used in scanning measuring mode 

• ISO 10360-5: CMMs using multiple stylus probing systems 

• ISO 10360-6: Estimation of errors in computing of Gaussian associated features 

• ISO 10360-7: CMMs equipped with imaging probing systems 

• ISO 10360-8: CMMs with optical distance sensors 

• ISO 10360-9: CMMs with multiple probing systems 

• ISO 10360-10: Laser trackers 

• ISO 10360-11: CMSs using the principle of X-ray computed tomography (CT) 

• ISO 10360-12: Articulated arm coordinate measurement machines 

• ISO 10360-13: Optical 3D CMS
