Introducing DIN 55440-1 – Industrial Physics

DIN 55440-1 is part of a national testing standard that was established to help you to determine the compression resistance of packaging.

DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V.), a German standardization body, has developed the use, rules, guidelines and characteristics of around 30,000 standards.

The performance of a container in production and transit is critical to the manufacturer. Product failures during filling, packing, warehousing and shipping are costly and can easily be prevented when containers and finished goods are tested for compressive strength.

DIN 55440 compression testing standard you’ll be able to evaluate the compressive strength of your packaging. To determine if its design and materials offer the level of protection you need.

Why is compression testing important?

Compression and crush testing are common and essential parts of any corrugated, paper and board QA process. There are various tests designed to illustrate the peak load the sample can handle.

You can test and evaluate the strength of your materials, products, and components with a compression tester. A compression tester will accurately measure strength, yield strength and deflection, showing you how much pressure your packages can withstand!

Compression testing can be carried out on materials including corrugated paper, paper, plastics and polymers.

Our compression testing technology

So, how can Industrial Physics support your compression testing to DIN 55440-1 standards?
