BS 6035 is a global BSI testing method that was developed to determine the drainability of pulp.
The British Standards (BS) are the testing standards produced by the BSI Group, which is incorporated under a royal charter, formally designated as the national standards body (NSB) for the UK.
BS 6035 testing provides a measure of the rate at which a dilute suspension of pulp may be dewatered. It’s applicable to all kinds of pulp in aqueous suspension but may not be suitable for some extremely short-fibred pulps.
The BS 6035 freeness of pulp testing standard for determining the drainability of pulp is split into the following two components:
To perform a successful drainability of pulp test to BS 6035 standards you should invest in a purpose-built freeness tester.
To ensure pulp mix perfection a freeness of pulp tester helps you to understand how quickly water is able to drain from a fiber furnish sample. It’s a great tool for paper making, when you need to make consistently high-quality sheets using knowledge of the surface conditions and swelling of fibers.
So, how can Industrial Physics improve your BS 6035 freeness of pulp testing?
Messmer Büchel Schopper-Riegler Freeness Tester 33-29
The Schopper-Riegler Freeness Tester 33-29 will accurately determine how quickly any diluted pulp solutions will drain. Our Schopper Riegler freeness tester 33-29 reliably determines the rate of drainage and expresses it in a Schopper Riegler (SR) value.
Testing Machines Inc. Canadian Standard Freeness Tester CSFT 33-23
Our Canadian Standard Freeness Tester determines the rate of drainage of a dilute pulp suspension and expresses it in terms of freeness. The rate of drainage is related to the work done on the fiber during beating or refining. We make both brass wall mounted and stainless-steel standing models of our freeness testers.
We’ve learnt a thing or two about freeness of pulp testing over the decades. Now Industrial Physics is recognized as a brand that likes to bring new, innovative freeness testers to market.
We like to share our knowledge and we’re here to help you to answer your questions about paper and pulp testing. Across the knowledgebase section of our website we publish lots of blogs on related subjects.
