Introducing EDANA 30.4 – Industrial Physics

EDANA 30.4 is a global EDANA testing standard that provides a method for determining the thickness of nonwoven fabrics.

EDANA creates common standards and testing guidelines for nonwovens and related industries for materials testing and has a global reach with a focus on Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

What is thickness testing useful for?

Thickness testing is a useful inspection method that can be used to categorize and qualify a variety of materials, including nonwoven fabrics. This testing method is used in the trade for acceptance testing of commercial shipments of nonwovens.

To perform a successful EDANA 30.4 nonwoven thickness test you should use a micrometer. Micrometers are tools designed for measuring the depth, width, or length of a material. These thickness testing tools give precise results and there are both traditional and digital micrometer versions available.

So, how can Industrial Physics improve your EDANA 30.4 nonwoven testing?

Messmer Büchel Digital Micrometer 49-56
With the Digital Micrometer 49-56 from Messmer Büchel you’ll achieve accurate thickness measurements of a wide range of sheet-like substrates even at low pressures. And the instrument complies to the most demanding of international standards.

The 49-56 is a popular choice from our range of easy-to-use digital micrometers, it offers impressive accuracy within 0.001mm (0.00004in.) or 1% of paper thickness, whichever is better.
