The Z540 Manual Flange Width Gauge from Torus provides precise, operator-independent measurements for beverage and food cans. This universal gauge has a resolution of 10 microns and is a reliable tool that ensures flange values meet specifications, improving quality control efficiency for production lines and laboratories.
Brought to you by Torus, our measurement, automation, metrology, and manufacturing equipment brand, the Z540 Manual Flange Width Gauge (FWG) is a highly accurate digital gauge designed to measure the flange width of beverage and food cans.
The Z540 Manual Flange Width Gauge features a resolution of 10 microns (0.01 mm), and provides operator-independent, repeatable results, ensuring consistent quality control across can production. Its automated positioning system centers cans and measures flange width across the centerline for reliable readings every time. Additionally, it is designed to provide high accuracy levels and measurement repeatability, so you can trust the results provided.
The Torus Z540 Manual Flange Width Gauge has been designed for easy use and can accommodate a variety of can types. Operating the device is straightforward. Simply power on the digital indicator, insert your can, and start measuring.
The gauge is designed to keep your cans safe while measuring, as each can is securely clamped into place onto the anvil and sits on an angled base to avoid tipping.
Measurements are displayed on the digital indicator in as quickly as 3 seconds, simplifying the process for operators. The digital indicator can provide readings in inches or mm. Additionally, to reduce the risk of manual recording errors, the device comes with an SPC output for easy connection to an automated seam analysis system, such as the CMC-KUHNKE Visionary or Torus’ GaugeXplorer software.
The Torus Z540 Manual Flange Width Gauge has been designed for long-term reliability with minimal maintenance and is suited for a variety of can types. The Z540 is able to provide reliable flange width measurements for all can types. Through a simple tooling change, the gauge is suitable for measuring the flange width of beverage cans or food cans.
The Z540 provides highly accurate readings with an accuracy rating of ±0.03 mm, ensuring reliable and consistent measurement results for quality control applications.
The Z540 Flange Width Gauge is capable of measuring flange widths of 2-piece and 3-piece aluminum or steel cans, accommodating can diameters from 48 to 153 mm.
