TAPPI T227 is a TAPPI international testing standard that follows the Canadian Standard freeness method to determine the drainability of pulp suspensions in water.
If you follow this TAPPI T227 pulp freeness testing approach then you’ll soon be able to measure the rate at which a dilute suspension of pulp can be drained.
The TAPPI T227 test was originally developed to yield test values that would support the control of manufacture of groundwood. But it’s now also used to follow the drainage rate changes of various chemical pulps during beating and refining.
The freeness, or drainage rate has been shown to be related to the surface conditions and swelling of the fibers. On top of this, the result is also dependent on the test conditions such as stock preparation, temperature, and the water quality available.
So, how can Industrial Physics improve your TAPPI T227 freeness of pulp testing?
Messmer Büchel Schopper-Reigler Freeness Tester 33-29
The Schopper-Riegler Freeness Tester 33-29 will accurately determine how quickly any diluted pulp solutions will drain.
Brought to you by Messmer Büchel, our paper inspection specialist brand, our Schopper Riegler freeness tester 33-29 reliably determines the rate of drainage and expresses it in a Schopper Riegler (SR) value.
Are you involved in paper making? When you need to make consistently high quality sheets, careful examination of the surface conditions and swelling of the fibers is important. The good news is, our Schopper Riegler freeness tester 33-29 helps you to achieve freeness of pulp testing perfection.
Canadian Standard Freeness Tester CSFT 33-23
Our Canadian Standard Freeness Tester determines the rate of drainage of a dilute pulp suspension and expresses it in terms of freeness. We make two models to best suit your requirements: wall mounted (brass), and stand model (stainless steel).
We’ve learnt a lot about freeness of pulp testing over the years. We strive to continually improve upon the innovative freeness testers and freeness of pulp testing equipment we bring to market.
We’re here to help you to answer your questions about freeness of pulp testing and we’re only too happy to share our knowledge. Across the knowledgebase section of our website we publish lots of blogs on related subjects.
