QUALICOAT is a globally recognized certification system that sets strict requirements for the coating of aluminium and aluminium alloy products. The standard ensures that architectural and industrial aluminium coatings deliver long‑term durability, corrosion resistance, color stability, and mechanical performance.
Manufacturers, applicators, and testing laboratories rely on QUALICOAT to validate coating quality and maintain compliance with international architectural specifications.
QUALICOAT defines a comprehensive set of requirements and test methods for coated aluminium. Key elements include:
These requirements ensure that coated aluminium maintains its performance in demanding architectural environments.
Testing to QUALICOAT is essential for:
QUALICOAT certification is a key differentiator for high‑performance aluminium finishing.
The Machu Test Bath is designed for accelerated corrosion testing in accordance with QUALICOAT requirements. It evaluates the resistance of coated aluminium to corrosive environments, helping identify weaknesses in pretreatment or coating systems.
Key benefits:
Buchholz Hardness Indentation Test
The Buchholz Hardness Tester measures indentation resistance — a required mechanical performance test under QUALICOAT.
Key benefits:
Spare Plastic Box for Test Panels
This protective storage box keeps coated aluminium test panels clean, organized, and contamination‑free before and after QUALICOAT testing.
Key benefits:
Industrial Physics supports coating applicators, aluminium finishers, and accredited laboratories worldwide with the tools and expertise needed to meet QUALICOAT requirements. Whether you’re validating corrosion resistance, mechanical performance, or coating durability, we provide the solutions to help you achieve dependable, standards‑aligned testing.
The TQC Sheen Machu Test Bath (VF8700) is a temperature-controlled 11-litre corrosion test bath for Qualicoat and QIB accelerated weathering of coated aluminum and steel panels - 24 hours of Machu testing correlates with approximately 500 hours of conventional salt spray testing.
The TQC Sheen Buchholz Hardness Indentation Test measures the indentation hardness of cured coatings to ISO 2815, giving coatings laboratories and paint manufacturers a fast, standardized hardness result. Supplied with a 20x illuminated microscope, digital dual timer and calibration certificate.
