ISO 11127-7

Introducing ISO 11127-7- Industrial Physics

ISO 11127-7 is an ISO international test method that’s used to prepare the surfaces of steel substrates before you apply paints and coatings.

Part seven of this ISO steel surface testing standard deals with the sampling and testing of non-metallic abrasives for blast-cleaning. It helps you to determine the levels of water-soluble chlorides which come in the form of amperometric titration, spectro-photometry and ion chromatography.

The ISO 11127-7 testing apparatus

To carry out a successful ISO 11127-7 test you’ll need certain items of equipment, all of which Industrial Physics can help you with. This steel substrate testing equipment includes:

Amperometric titration equipment: any suitable commercial equipment.

Balance: capable of weighing to an accuracy of 0.1g.

ISO 11127-7 test report format

When writing up your ISO 11127-7 steel substrate test you’ll need to include the following information as a minimum:

  • Testers’ details
  • The date of the steel substrate surface test.
  • Details to identify the product you’re testing
  • Any test deviations
  • Substrate test results

So, how can Industrial Physics improve your ISO 11127-7 steel surface testing?

TQC Sheen Bresle Kit – Chloride Test Kit

When you’re preparing to coat a blast-cleaned surface and need to first assess the level of soluble salts - look no further than the TQC Sheen bresle kit and chloride test kit. It’s perfect for companies that work within marine coatings, protective coatings and pipeline coatings. It will help you to detect the presence of soluble salts expressed in milligrams per square meter.
