EN-ISO 1520 is an international testing standard that was developed to guide the deformation resistance testing of paints and varnishes using the cupping test approach.
This EN-ISO testing method specifies an empirical test procedure for assessing the resistance of coatings to cracking and/or detachment from a metal substrate when subjected to gradual deformation by indentation under standard conditions. If you’re working with multi-coat systems, each coat may be tested separately, or the complete system may be tested.
You can perform a compliant paint test to EN-ISO 1520 standards by following either of the following two approaches.
So, how can Industrial Physics improve your EN-ISO 1520 inks and coatings testing?
TQC Sheen Automatic Cupping Tester
The TQC Sheen Automatic cupping tester to perform a cupping (Erichsen / Dent) test on coated steel panels to define the resistance of paint, varnish or related products to cracking and/or detachment from a metal substrate when subjected to gradual deformation by indentation under standard conditions.
