Introducing ASTM D3763-02 - Industrial Physics
ASTM D376-02 is a global ASTM international standard method for testing the high speed puncture properties of plastics using load and displacement sensors.
This ASTM international test method will help you to understand the puncture properties of many plastics - including films - over a range of test velocities. It does this using a falling weight impact tester.
Although sometimes compared, this specification doesn’t closely conform to ISO 6603. They’re both instrumented impact tests, but this is where the similarities end. The differences in striker, fixture, and specimen geometries - plus in test velocity, can produce significantly different test results.
