Introducing AS/NZ 1301-4535 – Industrial Physics

AS/NZ 1301-4535 is a combined Australian and New Zealand inspection standard that was developed for bending resistance testing of paper and paperboard.

The Standards New Zealand and Standards Australia inspection bodies work together to develop harmonized joint standards under the title ‘AS/NZS’ that include AS/NZ 1301-4535.

What is bending resistance testing?

Bending resistance is a characteristic associated with the rigidity of a material. When you measure it, you learn about the modulus of elasticity of the material’s stiffness.

You can carry out a bending resistance test using a bending test machine on a variety of samples from paper and paperboard through to plastic film, medical tubing and wire testing.
