Introducing AS/NZS 1301.430 – Industrial Physics

AS/NZS 1301.430 is an Appita testing method to test the liner adhesion properties of corrugated boards.

This is an Australian / New Zealand adhesive testing standard brought to you by Appita, a not-for-profit industry association that supports the advancement of the pulp, paper packaging and bioproducts industries.

What is an adhesive strength test?

An adhesive strength test is a type of test that covers a broad category of tension and compression testing for many types of materials, used across many industries. Adhesion testers generally focus on the bond strength between two materials, created with some type of coating such as tape, glue, or gels.

What is included in the AS/NZS 1301.430 documents?

Within the AS/NZS 1301.430 testing documents you’ll find the following sections covering the following:

  • Adhesion testing terms and definitions
  • Adhesion testing apparatus – information on motor driven crush testers and the sample cutter you’ll need.
  • How to prepare and condition your samples ready for an adhesion test
  • The adhesive strength testing conditions you need to create
  • The adhesion testing procedure to follow, how to measure results accurately and calculate the results
  • How to write up an AS/NZS 1301.430 test report.

So, how can Industrial Physics improve your AS/NZS 1301.430 testing?

Crush Tester 17-56

The Crush Test is designed as a robust, easy-to-use instrument. Exactly what you need when performing crush tests. The Crush Tester is suitable for a wide variety of samples, including corrugated board, tubes, corrugated paper and plastics. The special sample holders extend the instrument’s possibilities. The accuracy is achieved with a precision load cell, which is even accurate at low force values.
