Custom Baker Applicators 

Outside of our normal range of Baker Applicators, we are proud to be able to offer custom-sized applicators (single or dual) baker type film applicators. These can be ordered to meet the sizes you require and support your specific coating testing needs. Just request a quotation or ask for more information, and we’ll be happy to quote this for you.  

Versatile range of baker applicators 

Each Baker Applicator has four sides of defined thickness. The Baker applicator is also known as a cylindrical film applicator and is available in various film widths for many different types of sample sizes.  

Our Baker applicators are available in film widths of 60mm, 80mm, 100mm and 150mm and gap depths of 15 to 200 µm. They’re suitable for applying a host of different products to flat and relatively solid substrates. 

All are made from high grade materials, so they are built to last and with extreme care – providing accuracy levels of +/- 2 µm. 

Reproducible film applicator results  

The TQC Sheen Baker applicator, when used with an automatic film applicator, smooths over any drawdown problems caused by variations in speed, pressure and direction. It even ensures that the results are protected from influence by the shear rate or weight of the applicator. 

All of this means that you can enjoy confidence that your film thickness is even over an entire surface and that the samples created with our automatic film applicators are reproducible. Plus, you can quickly produce a large number of identical laboratory precision drawdowns.

If you’re preparing samples for testing abrasion resistance, hiding power or gloss then you’ll love our Baker Film Applicator! Whatever the test, our devices will keep any variation risks from rheological properties, application speed or pressure to a minimum.
