An automated scanner platform that carries a porosity sensor across your moving web, giving you continuous cross-direction and machine-direction air permeability profiles for every roll you produce.
The Technidyne ACA Scan is a compact scanner platform that carries a porosity sensor back and forth across your moving web, building cross-direction (CD) and machine-direction (MD) air permeability profiles in real time. It’s built for small and medium-sized production lines that need continuous roll-to-roll data without installing a heavy traversing frame.
Lab spot checks give you a handful of readings per roll. That leaves variation across the width, or a drift that creeps in part-way through the reel, to be found by your customer or your converting line rather than by you. ACA Scan measures while the line runs, so you see the whole roll instead of a sample of it. Results are presented as visual color maps, which makes it quick to see where variation sits and to share it with your process team.
ACA Scan is the scanner platform. The sensor it most commonly carries is Technidyne ACA Permi Porosity, which takes the online air permeability measurement. ACA Scan provides the movement and the coverage that turn single-point readings into a full roll profile. Scanning speed is adjustable, so you can match measurement to your line speed and the grade you’re running.
A light mechanical structure and space-saving design mean ACA Scan can be fitted into existing production lines, including those with limited clearance around the web. Installation is quick and straightforward, and an automatic cleaning cycle keeps routine maintenance low so the instrument stays reliable through long production runs.
ACA Scan is applied across paper and board grades including coated base paper, uncoated printing paper, sack paper, kraft paper, cigarette paper, decor paper, filter paper and packaging board. It is also used on nonwovens such as glassfiber, spunbond, meltblown and airlaid media, on machine clothing including felts and wires, and on films and engineered materials including battery separator films, breathable films and membrane films.
Through our specialist testing brands, including Technidyne and TMI Buchel, we cover the full testing cycle for you, from benchtop verification in the quality lab through to continuous measurement on the machine. Yes. It uses a light, compact mechanical structure designed to fit into existing lines, including those with limited space around the web. Installation is quick and straightforward.
The system runs an automatic cleaning cycle, which keeps routine maintenance demand low.
Yes. It is designed for small to medium-sized production lines that need continuous online porosity data but cannot accommodate a large traversing frame.
ACA Scan is a scanner platform rather than a sensor. It carries a porosity sensor across the moving web and builds cross-direction and machine-direction air permeability profiles from those readings. It is most commonly used with the Technidyne ACA Permi Porosity sensor for online porosity measurement.
