The TQC Sheen Taber CS 17 Green Abrasion Wheels (SKU: TB0500) are a matched set of high-precision wheels designed for use with the TABER Abraser 1700-1750. These wheels deliver a characteristic rub-wear action to simulate real-world wear and tear, forming a circular abrasion pattern—a hallmark of the Taber test method.
As the test specimen rotates beneath two CS 17 wheels (one labeled left, one right), the crossed-arc abrasion pattern covers approximately 30 cm², abrading the surface across all angles of grain or weave. This ensures uniform material wear and delivers highly repeatable results.
Constructed with analytical grade abrasive materials, each wheel is manufactured under strict quality control to maintain consistent composition, shape, and performance. The CS 17 wheels fall under the Calibrase® family, offering a resilient, rubber-like composition ideal for testing rigid specimens such as coated panels, aluminum, metals, and rubberized surfaces.
Wheels can be refaced and reused down to a minimum outer diameter of 45 mm (1¾ inches) and should always be reinstalled in their labeled positions to maintain test integrity.
