Description

Built by TQC Sheen, our specialist paint and coating testing brand, the Scrub Abrasion and Washability Tester is designed for evaluating the scratch, wear, and color loss resistance of coatings exposed to wet or dry abrasion. This robust tester is ideal for simulating everyday wear, such as cleaning actions and surface friction, helping you determine if your paints, varnishes, or coatings are fit for purpose.

It is widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, packaging, and coatings production where abrasion resistance and long-term surface durability are critical for product performance and customer satisfaction.

Engineered for precision and long‑term performance, it provides standardized, controlled testing conditions that help laboratories, manufacturers, and quality control teams ensure products can withstand real‑world wear.

Flexible, Modular Testing – Choose the Model That Matches Your Needs

We offer two models to suit your testing requirements and budget:
When you invest in an abrasion tester machine from Industrial Physics you get a choice of models. If you only need dry testing then our Basic model (AB6010) does the job. Prefer to have both dry and wet testing options? Our pump-kitted Standard model (AB6000gives you that extra capability.

Each base unit is flexible. This means that you can easily swap your testing tools and modify the abrasion tester to make a variety of inspections possible. This modular system helps you to vary your approach to match different testing standards, slashing laboratory costs.

What’s the difference between the Basic and Standard models?
