The CMC KUHNKE Panel Implosion Tester (PNL-3153) is a highly accurate and reliable panel implosion tester for beverage cans.
Brought to you by CMC-KUHNKE, our metal testing expert brand, our semi-automated pressure testing device accurately measures the implosion strength of 2-piece and 3-piece cans or PET bottles.
The automated testing process of our hydrostatic testing device increases its accuracy while eliminating operator error. Plus the automatic data transfer function is a great time saving feature.
The viewing windows of our hydrostatic testing device allow you to witness every aspect of the implosion process. But do not fear! It has several safety features: the test will not run until the door is secured; and the door won’t open when the chamber is pressurized.
The ‘quick fill’ feature of our pressure testing device rapidly increases the pressure to a set amount. Once it’s ready at the starting pressure then the tester reduces the fill rate to optimize its accuracy.
The PNL-3153 Panel Implosion Tester lets you test all different sizes of samples without the time-zapping need to change parts for multiple heights or diameters.
Across the IP portfolio we make a wide range of pressure testing devices and can inspection equipment for all types of QA demands.
For example, The semi-automatic CSG-3000-B Combination Seam Gauge for Beverage Cans gives you precise seam thickness and countersink depth measurements, including a 360° scan around the can.
Or why not have a look at the loose end buckle and burst tester which measures the pressure at which loose food ends buckle, and when easy open and peel seal ends burst.
Another option is the 8 Station Enamel Rater for Porosity Testing. It connects to a variety of attachments for rapid enamel testing of up to 8 cans, can ends, crowns, or twist-off caps.
Over many decades of creating vision based can inspection equipment we’ve learnt a lot about optimal processes to follow and building the most reliable, accurate devices. We like to share the insight we’ve gained across the knowledgebase section of our website.
We’ve published lots of blogs relating to can inspection equipment. Like this piece – 2-piece Vs 3-piece cans: choosing the right packaging. Or this one which explores some commonly asked questions relating to can seam inspection.
If you appreciate this type of can inspection equipment content then take some time to explore our website. You’ll find lots more blogs, videos and advice from our experts.
