Are you looking for a reliable oxygen headspace analyzer? Or, do you need a CO2 gas analyzer for your headspace testing? Choose one of the advanced headspace analyzers from Systech, our specialist testing brand, globally recognized for its precision oxygen and carbon dioxide MAP analyzers.
We are pleased to be able to offer two distinct models: the GS6500 and GS6600. Each headspace analyzer is tailored for specific measurement needs, while offering exceptional performance technology, accuracy, and allows operators to meet the latest industry demands with ease. Whether you choose the GS6500 or the GS6600, these analyzers make testing your headspace easier than ever.
| Model | Measurement Capability | Sensor Type | Response Time |
| GS6500 (898 650) | Oxygen levels only | Zirconia | <5 Sec |
| GS6600 (898 660) | Oxygen and carbon dioxide concentrations | Zirconia + IR | <5 sec (O₂), <10 sec (CO₂) |
Both the GS6500 and GS6600 models are highly advanced instruments. They are equipped with integral sampling systems, long-life zirconia and infrared sensors, and microprocessor control to ensure accurate and repeatable performance when testing modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). These features allow you to quickly and easily perform CO2, O2, and nitrogen (balance) analysis.
The internal microprocessor manages calibration, auto-ranging, flow control, test duration, and many other functions to ensure consistent, error-free results. Additionally, the compact, corrosion-resistant enclosure of both models minimizes footprint space, making them suitable for carts and table tops.
Both the GS6500 and GS6600 headspace analyzers offer several advantages for oxygen and carbon dioxide measurements:
Using the GS6500 or GS6600 for automated package sampling is simple. The user can select the measurement duration to accommodate various products. Insert the sampling needle into the package, press “test,” and the analyzer will handle the extraction and analysis, displaying results on a bright, auto-ranging screen.
Available accessories for both models include:
Each analyzer is supplied with a starter kit which contains a sample wand, gauge needles, filters and septa.
These features make both the GS6500 and GS6600 versatile and reliable choices for headspace gas analysis, ensuring precision and ease of use across various applications.
These are just some of the many headspace analyzers that we can offer. The GS6500 measures oxygen levels with high precision using a zirconia ceramic sensor, while the GS6600 measures both oxygen and carbon dioxide concentrations using combined zirconia and infrared sensors. Both models offer rapid response times (under 5 seconds for O2 and 10 seconds for CO2) with accuracy typically within ±0.1% oxygen and ±0.2% carbon dioxide, meeting stringent industry standards.
The analyzers utilize non-depleting sensors—zirconia ceramic for oxygen and non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) for carbon dioxide—which provide stable, maintenance-free operation over extended periods. The internal microprocessor manages calibration and sensor diagnostics to maintain accuracy and detect any sensor drift.
Yes. Both GS6500 and GS6600 feature integral sampling systems with automated calibration, auto-ranging, and flow control managed by an internal microprocessor. Data output supports connection to PCs for further analysis and can be interfaced with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for streamlined workflow integration.
The sample wand includes replaceable needles and particulate filters to prevent contamination and clogging. Regular replacement of these consumables is recommended depending on usage frequency. The sensors themselves require minimal maintenance due to their robust non-depleting design, with periodic calibration checks advised to ensure ongoing accuracy.
The GS6600 uses a narrow wavelength IR filter combined with temperature compensation in its NDIR sensor, which selectively detects carbon dioxide, ensuring precise measurement even in complex gas mixtures such as MAP environments where nitrogen and other gases are present.
Both models can analyze a wide range of package sizes, from small vials and sachets (using a 45° adaptor accessory) to larger flexible and rigid containers. The direct injection sampling method allows for flexible testing without the need for extensive sample preparation.
Wide range of barrier testing needed → Adopted advanced WVTR and OTR measurement → Faster, more accurate validation with stronger material performance confidence ✓
A cutting-edge manufacturer of sustainable flexible packaging films was searching for an oxygen transmission rate analyzer to be used within an R&D environment.
Ultimately, it was the Systech OxySense 8101e OTR that best fit the needs of TIPA – due to the ease of operation, excellent sensitivity and reliability, and a wide sensor range, it was able to tick all the boxes.
Due to the features of the instrument, TIPA can expand the range of the products they’re developing – a hugely beneficial factor.
