Robust coating thickness gauge

This handy, robust and easy to use TQC coating thickness gauge is ideal for measurement tasks in various industries and paint applications. 

It is a compact meter that allows measurement of painted objects, or other corrosion protective layer thicknesses, with accuracy measured in both Fe (iron or steel) and NFe (aluminum, copper, brass or non-magnetic steel). 

Applications of a coating thickness gauge

Suitable for testing the thickness of paints and coatings on a variety of substrates, including aluminum and steel, this gauge is a useful part of the QA process for everything from automotive industry to flexible packaging.

With a standard and easy-to-use interface, this thickness gauge tester is suitable for users with a wide range of skill levels. It also has a robust carry case and a USB interface, to make transferring data easy.  

How to use the paint thickness gauge

The FE/NFE Coating Thickness Gauge is easy to use, here’s how to measure paint thickness. 

1. First, prepare your sample. Then place the thickness gauge in open space, at least 5cm away from any metal, and switch it on. The instrument will operate in factory default settings for the first time: single measuring mode, AUTO probe mode, direct group mode (DIR). 

2. Start measuring. Place the probe on the sample vertically, and after one beep (for single measuring mode), raise the probe again. Readings will be displayed on the LCD, meanwhile statistics values are upgraded and displayed. 

3. You can repeat the process as many times as needed.  

4. Power off your thickness gauge. If it’s not in use for three minutes, the instrument will turn itself off.  

Testing coating thickness to industry standards

This thickness coating gauge is capable of measuring he thickness of coatings applied to a substrate in accordance with ISO 2808.
