The CHROMetal 9000 is an industry-leading chrome plating thickness tester that uses a chemical testing process to inspect both T.F.S (Tin Free Steel) and TP (Tin Plate) coatings.
Developed by Quality by Vision, our specialist vision inspection brand, the CHROMetal 9000 chrome plating thickness tester features high-tech electrolytic / coulometric hardware and software.
Our chrome plating thickness device is what you need to ensure the correct thickness of a chrome coating. It will also guide insightful R&D planning while tightening up your quality control processes.
You get a choice of two cell options when you use our versatile chrome plating thickness tester: manual/automatic single cell system and an automatic three cell system.
First up you insert your sample (strip, or actual sample) into the cell. Next the electrolytic fluid fills the cell, which is closed off. The measurement process can then proceed, inspecting: top only; top and bottom or 3x top and bottom measurements. Profiles are presented for each of the measurements.
During the measurement process, the chrome coating is deplated and removed from the sample’s surface. The CHROmetal 9000 then monitors the coating removal process, then calculates the amount of Chromium that was removed from the surface.
The CHROmetal 9000 lets you test using either the T.F.S (tin free steel) or TP (tin plating) standards – which have been optimized for each type of chromium coating.
Our innovative design ensures that you achieve quick and easy measurements with little operator knowledge required. When measuring chrome on tin a reading of 3-5 mg per sqm is acceptable; for TFS you’ll want a measurement of anything over 50 mg per sqm.
A clever multi-linguist, the CHROmetal 9000 can be translated to your local language, free of charge.
