TQC Sheen Carbide Method Hygrometer

The TQC Sheen Carbide Method Hygrometer is a high-precision, destructive hygrometer designed for fast and reliable measurement of residual moisture in concrete, sand cement, and other bricky materials. Widely used in construction, it helps prevent building damage by detecting excess humidity directly on site with no need for lab testing.

Description

High-Precision Moisture Detection

The TQC Sheen Carbide Method Hygrometer offers fast and accurate residual moisture detection in materials like concrete and sand cement. Designed for use in construction and climate testing environments, this destructive method tool determines moisture levels through a chemical reaction with calcium carbide, delivering precise results even in field conditions.

Why Moisture Testing Matters

Excessive residual moisture in flooring or base layers can lead to building damage and costly repairs. The Carbide Method Hygrometer enables professionals to test for moisture content quickly and reliably on site — before it becomes a problem. With clear readings displayed directly in CM %, there’s no need for conversion, and no delays due to lab turnaround times.

How to Use the Carbide Method Hygrometer

  1. Insert a precisely weighed sample and four steel balls into the pressure bottle.
  2. Add a calcium carbide ampoule, seal the bottle, and shake to break the ampoule.
  3. Mix the sample and reagent by rotating the bottle for 15–20 minutes.
  4. Final pressure readings indicate the residual moisture in CM %.

Practical Design for Field Use

The set comes in a durable metal carrying case, containing everything needed for moisture testing: balance, pressure cylinder, carbide ampoules, weighing tools, cleaning accessories, and detailed instructions. Choose from three complete kit versions—Classic, Standard Pro, or Business—with mechanical or digital gauges and optional log printer.

Understanding the Carbide Method

The Carbide Method Hygrometer delivers reliable and accurate results by measuring the pressure generated through a chemical reaction. When calcium carbide is introduced to the sample, it reacts with the residual water present, producing acetylene gas. This gas increases the pressure within the sealed vessel, and the resulting value is directly proportional to the moisture content in the material. The robust, enclosed design of the instrument ensures that external factors do not influence the outcome, guaranteeing consistent and trustworthy readings in any environment.

Reliable and Easy to Use

With its rugged design, precise measuring system, and intuitive operation, the TQC Sheen Carbide Method Hygrometer delivers dependable results. It’s a trusted tool for anyone working with building materials, ensuring construction quality and reducing risks of future damage.
