TMI Büchel Automatic Densimeter DSG-2

For the most accurate measurement of the specific gravity of liquids, or the rate of change of volume for rubber and other materials, try the Automatic Densimeter DSG-2.

Description

This high precision digital densimeter is ideal for almost any laboratory environment.

If you work with polymers or plastics in particular then you really should invest in our industry leading Automatic Densimeter DSG-2.

Densimeter testing basics

Densimeter testing to ascertain a part’s consistency is an essential quality control test – a vital part of incoming material evaluation. Densimeter testing involves weighing the material in air and then in a liquid of known density (usually water or ethanol).

Choosing the right densimeter is critical. You need to select wisely to avoid inconsistent measuring techniques and procedures in your quality control processes.

Easy use electronic densimeter

Featuring a high precision electronic balance, our densimeter devices determine the specific gravity of rubber, plastics (especially like polyethylene), ceramic, and various other materials with the single push of a button.

During each densimeter test the specific gravity of any sample can easily be read directly from the indicator screen.

Accurate and repeatable densimeter testing

The DSG-2 automatic densimeter weighs up the gravity and density measurements in its automated unit with highly accurate, repeatable results.

Certified densimeter testing – as standard

Our electronic densimeter was built to satisfy the most stringent of national and international testing standards including ISO 1183-1, JIS K7112 and JIS Z8807.

Densimeter optional extras

We can supply a number of different attachments so you can measure the specific gravity of many additional liquids, or the rate of change of other materials.

A dense selection of densimeter products

We make a wide range of densimeter devices and accessories. For example, check out the TQC Sheen Densimeter H-300S, Hildebrand and our Ray Ran Auto Density Measurement System. Just get in touch if you have something else in mind!

How to use a densimeter?

To use our electronic densimeter effectively you’ll need to place a beaker with the liquid you’re inspecting in a cabinet. Next you place the automatic densimeter in the beaker and launch your test. Soon after your data is shown clearly on the densimeter’s digital display.

Features & Benefits

  • Can measure a wide range of densities from foams to metals.
  • Measurement time can be as short as about 15 seconds
  • Three simple steps for operation: set conditions, attach/detach specimen, and press start button
  • Liquid and air density tables can be stored in the main unit, and the liquid and air densities can be reflected by simply entering air and liquid temperatures
  • In addition to distilled water, other liquid such as alcohol can be used as the immersion liquid
  • The temperature of the liquid can be controlled by using a double-wall beaker and a refrigerated circulator
  • Optional calculation software enables volumetric and other measurements
  • The beaker lifting speed and vertical stop position can be changed to improve testing efficiency
  • A fully-automatic version is also available, in which all measurements are performed automatically by simply setting the sample
