Testing Machines Inc. Digital Micrometer 49-86

The Digital Micrometer 49-86 quickly and precisely measures the thickness and caliper of most sheet materials - from paper, fabric and films to plastic, metal and leather.

Description

Brought to you by Testing Machines Inc, our physical property materials testing brand, this reliable digital micrometer is designed for the thinnest of samples. It has a highly accurate measurement range of: 0-0.050in. (0-1.27mm), making it the perfect digital micrometer for paper.

What is a digital micrometer?

A digital micrometer is a precision measurement tool that’s primarily used for thickness testing. Micrometers can be used for continuous or single testing and statistical analysis. Some digital micrometers are controlled remotely through a computer terminal, others are used in conjunction with other testing equipment.

Downloadable digital micrometer data

You can save your electronic micrometer data permanently through the optional GraphMaster PC-based software. Or you can print it off and keep a hard copy for further analysis.

Micrometer results, clearly displayed

Our electronic micrometers combine a precision digital linear encoder measuring system with an ultra-clear, easy-to-read digital display. So you can check a specimen’s thickness in real time.

Robust digital micrometer testing

We’ve encased our digital micrometers in solid, hardwearing  frames. The reflective linear encoder and associated circuitry is well protected from accidental damage.

Built to last, we also constructed the lower anvil and movable pressure foot from lapped, stainless steel.

A micrometer to remember!

Our digital micrometers will measure and store up to 100 readings. Plus they’ll analyze high, low, average and standard deviation for each series of tests.

Quality digital micrometer testing – as standard!

You can rely on our digital micrometer 49-86 to give you highly accurate results to the most stringent of international standards, including:

A portfolio thick with digital micrometers

Across the IP portfolio we make a wide range of electronic micrometers for all types of samples. Here are some of the options.

The TMI digital micrometer model 49-87 can be configured to meet a variety of international specifications for different types of materials including corrugated paper, paper board, plastic film, paper, tissue paper, nonwovens, textiles and other sheet like substrates.

The TMI electronic micrometer caliper model 49-85 is designed to measure the thickness or caliper of paper sheets with precision and ease.

Digital micrometer discourse

We’ve learnt a thing or two about how to build exceptional electronic micrometers and we like to talk and write about it!

For example, we’ve published this piece explaining pretty much all of the basic information you need to know about digital micrometers and this one on how to use a digital micrometer. After checking out these blogs, why not read up on our advice on how to improve the precision of your micrometer testing
