The Slide Angle Coefficient of Friction Tester 32-25 provides static coefficient of friction testing using the inclined plane method and conforms to a large number of stringent standards from ASTM, TAPPI and ISO. 

Description

Developed by Testing Machines Inc, our paper and flexible packaging testing brand, this coefficient of friction inclined plane device is ideal for testing a wide range of paper, plastic film, packaging films, paperboard, corrugated and other sheet like materials. 

Our Slide Angle Coefficient Of Friction (COF) Tester gives you static coefficient of friction testing using the inclined plane method and conforms to a large number of stringent standards from ASTM, TAPPI and ISO 

How to measure coefficient of friction   

A friction tester, also called a coefficient-of-friction (COF) tester, measures sheet-like substrates. It does this by determining the angle of inclination at which one substrate affixed to a sled will begin to slide/slip against the surface of another substrate of a similar material. 

Slide into simple coefficient of friction testing

Using the Slide Angle Coefficient of Friction (COF) Tester 32-25 an inclined plane is increased by its electric motor at a rate of 1.5 ± 0.5º per second until the test block begins to slide. The initial movement of the sled reveals the slide angle or coefficient of static friction of the material.  

Photo-optical coefficient of friction testing accuracy 

When the test block begins to slide a photo-optical sensor automatically stops the inclined plane so you can read the slide angle result. 

A variety of factors can affect the slide angle measurements including abrasion, coatings, varnishes, printing and most importantly humidity.

The Slide Angle Coefficient of Friction (COF) Tester 32-25 measures slide angle or coefficient of static friction 

0 to 80 degree angle. A horizontal plane method is also available to measure static and kinetic coefficient of friction.
