The Crush Tester 17-56 is an innovative and easy-to-use crush tester that offers six highly accurate crush testing methods, even at low force values.
Brought to you by TMI Büchel , our paper quality testing brand, The Crush Tester 17-56 is suitable for a wide variety of samples, including corrugated board, tubes, paper, plastics and polymers.
We designed our innovative crush tester as a robust, easy-to-use instrument. It features a precision load cell, which is even highly accurate at low force values.
With its robust test frame, precision load cell, and new electronic design, the Crush Tester 17-56 ensures repeatable, reliable crush test results, unmatched accuracy, and reliable, trouble-free operation.
Our crush tester features a clear touch screen interface that makes it easy to switch between tests. Six favorite crush testing methods can be selected and toggled between on the main screen, improving the speed of testing.
After performing the crush test, you can save all of the resulting data directly to an external PC. Our GraphMasterTM software makes this quick and easy!
Along with the crush test results, a test curve and full statistics are also displayed. The advanced software allows you to develop individual test methods for easy operation, and you’ll find changing the measuring units easy.
Combined with the appropriate tooling, the Crush Tester 17-56 has the capability to perform a number of different crush tests, including:
The Crush Tester 17-56 was designed to support crush tests to meet a multitude of international and industry standards, including Appita, DIN, FEFCO, ISO, TAPPI and more.
Our crush tester is relied upon across a diverse range of applications, including compression and crush testing, corrugated testing, and materials testing. The 17-56 makes light work of a range of materials from corrugated paper to textiles.
The Crush Tester 17-56 was created harnessing insight gained over decades of experience in the field of crush testing. We’ve used this experience to design and manufacture a wide range of crush testers and accessories.
For example, there’s our S Tester 17-38 from TMI Büchel or the Top Load Compression Tester 17-77 from TMI Büchel to check out.
You’ll find helpful crush testing insight throughout the knowledgebase section of our website, where we publish articles exploring all manner of related subjects.

Poor calibration services → Selected Industrial Physics as a service partner → Superior service achieved! ✓
Proper calibration of your inspection devices is essential for a long and accurate life of service. A leading pet food manufacturer discovered this when shoddy servicing created a raft of problems with their burst and creep testing equipment.
Our experts quickly identified and rectified the pre-existing problems. Now, they’re delighted to rely upon a trusted test and inspection partner with Industrial Physics.
Scott Chambers, Quality Technician at Mars Inc., said,
“I was very happy to be one of the first companies to participate in the mobile calibration program. Ryan Moreno was my technician and was very personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The calibrations he performed were very efficient. I like having a technician on site one on one to answer any question I had. Also, not having to ship my BT-Integra units was a major plus. looking forward to future visits at Mars Petcare KKC.”
