Gestandaardiseerde abrasieve deeltjes die in het reservoir zijn geplaatst, worden door een abrasieve flow gate sleutel op een geleidebuis losgelaten. De geleider is een 36\u2033 rechte buis met gladde buis die de schurende deeltjes opvangt wanneer ze vallen. De monsters worden onder een hoek van 45\u00b0 onder de geleidebuis bevestigd in een bakje dat aan de onderzijde een opening heeft waardoor de schurende deeltjes in een bakje kunnen worden opgevangen.
