Industrial Physics partners with Packaging Europe to explore the future of metal packaging

Industrial Physics, the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association and Suntory Beverage & Food will look at how the industry can prepare for the years ahead.

Industrial Physics is partnering with Packaging Europe on a live webinar looking at what’s next for metal packaging, and how the industry can build on its strengths as the demands on it continue to grow.

Titled Shaping the Future of Metal Packaging: Quality, Sustainability and Performance, the session brings together three people with a genuine stake in getting this right: Steve Davis of Industrial Physics, Jason Galley of the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association, and Greg Bentley of Suntory Beverage & Food.

Sustainability targets, lightweighting and evolving regulation are reshaping manufacturing, and expectations around quality, consistency and operational efficiency are climbing with them. Rather than treating that as a problem to solve, the panel will look at where the opportunities are: how manufacturers can build on the strengths of metal packaging, respond to these changing demands, and use testing, measurement and automation to support innovation and performance, not just compliance.

Why This Conversation Matters to Industrial Physics

The discussion draws on new research from Industrial Physics, Ready but not prepared: metal packaging’s 2028 reality check, which looks at the priorities and pressures shaping the sector as manufacturers prepare for the years ahead.

“Metal packaging has always adapted to meet new demands, and this research gives us a clear view of where the opportunities lie next,” said Davis, Global Product Director at Industrial Physics. “This webinar is a chance to bring the industry together and look at how we build on that strength, not just react to change.”

It’s a conversation that sits close to what Industrial Physics is here to do. As a global partner for packaging and material test and measurement, we work alongside quality, R&D and operations experts to protect the integrity of their brands and products, and this webinar is a practical extension of that work: a chance for the metal packaging industry to look ahead together, rather than react alone.
