Industrial Physics acquires ACA Systems, accelerating growth in its flexible packaging, paper, and coatings portfolio
Industrial Physics has acquired ACA Systems, a specialist industrial quality and performance analyzer business based in Sotkuma, Finland. The acquisition deepens Industrial Physics’ portfolio across its Films & Foils, Paper & Pulp, and Coatings verticals, and significantly expands the group’s engineering, R&D, and field service capability across EMEA – supporting faster growth and even better service for customers across these verticals.
ACA Systems has been developing precision analyzers for over two decades. Their portfolio spans handheld, benchtop, and inline solutions – covering applications from permeability and roll quality testing to optical and surface analysis across film, foil, paper, and coated materials. The AX-100 Viscometer and the automated RoQ Inline roll quality system extend the Industrial Physics portfolio from the quality lab to the production line, adding capability the group has not offered directly before and strengthening its offering in flexible packaging, paper, and coatings in a meaningful way.
Industrial Physics has distributed ACA’s ROQ handheld range in the United States through its Technidyne brand since 2014. The acquisition brings ACA fully into the Industrial Physics group, combining ACA’s specialist technology with Technidyne’s and TMI Büchel’s established benchtop quality lab presence. Together, the portfolio covers the testing lifecycle from the quality lab to the production floor.
ACA will operate as its own specialist brand within the Industrial Physics group. All 11 ACA employees, based in Finland, are retained. Vesa Kukkamo continues as CEO of ACA Systems.

In the United States, the Technidyne team at New Albany continues to handle sales and service for the RoQ product range. ACA operates directly in markets where Industrial Physics has field presence, with distribution arrangements in other markets to be confirmed as part of the integration plan.
