President and Chief Executive Officer
His aspirations for the future of Industrial Physics are fiercely ambitious.
As a Cornell University graduate in Engineering, Jim’s experience combines solid business credentials with a strong technical understanding of the industries we serve – allowing him to lead with expertise in both areas.
As Vice President and General Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, he managed the profitable growth of lab instrument sales. This was achieved organically as he worked to build global management teams within the organization. But he also led successful acquisitions: a strategy that has fueled the stand-out growth of the Industrial Physics brand.
Jim has astute business acumen. Throughout his career, he has found success working in challenging positions with globally recognized organizations. As a management consultant at Bain & Company he helped businesses to solve issues, create value, maximize growth, and improve business performance. He also managed a number of highly successful projects with Procter & Gamble.
In his earlier days, our CEO founded Cambridge Venture Advisors, a strategic advisory firm. This is where he gained capital raising and acquisition credentials. A stand-out project was his launch of Fitness Sports Network, a buy-and-build of participatory sports sites.
